The NAEYC is the National Association for the Education of Young Children and is the world’s largest organization working on behalf of young children. Their page on child obesity houses countless links to facts and information about the issue as well as prevention and tips to healthier lifestyle.
The food and nutrition source comes from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. They teach you how to feed your child healthy meals and develop healthy diet habits for kids of any age. It’s a great place to check out before you go to the grocery store to prepare for a healthy meal!

Kids Health is a great resource for parents and kids of all ages. The page the link takes you to is their “Overweight and Obese” page. Listed there is a collection of facts about (get this) overweight and obesity! At the bottom there are three tabs for parents, kids, and teens. Each tab is designed to get kids interested in diet and exercise, and to learn what they need to do to take care of their bodies. It’s definitely one of the best resources out there for parents AND kids!
Cosmic Kids Yoga is run by a lady named Jaime who lives right outside of London. She teaches adult yoga as well as kids and has been making the Cosmic Kids videos since May of 2012. Jaime’s videos will take kids on an adventure of yoga poses for that are sure to keep them entertained and interested in doing the exercises. Try some out with your kids!
Let’s Move! was launched by Michelle Obama on February 9, 2010. Their main goal is to provide healthier food for kids in schools. They also provide information to help make sure families have access to healthy foods and to help kids become more physically active. Find out what you can do to become healthier as a family!
NFL Play 60 is the NFL’s campaign to fight child obesity. They do this by encouraging kids to get 60 minutes of physical activity everyday, hence the “play 60″. They take actions by integrating football players into communities and schools to inspire kids to exercise. Learn how you can get involved!
The OAC is the Obesity Action Coalition. Their Kids Corner features articles specifically for kids and their parents. There are also articles designed for teens, such as how to be healthy during your first year in college.
